OPERATIONS + FORM
Operations + Form is a project that explores a process to generate unexpected forms. For this project I began with a set of constraints.
The constraints were to:
The platonic solid form that I created was a cube, made from wood. The operation I chose to perform was to cut the object in half and reattach the pieces perpendicular to each other. The outcome of the final form was completely unexpected.
The constraints were to:
- Build a platonic solid form (a faceted shape in which angles at all vertices of all faces are identical)
- Recreate that form n times (I used a value of n=10)
- Perform an operation to each form n=2 through n=10, performing the operation (n+1) times to each of the forms.
